Washington, D.C.’s Largest Cat Show to Feature More Than 150+ Cats, and Breed Showcases

Spokespeople and Their Cats Available for In-Studio Segments and Interviews


WASHINGTON, DC — The Capital City Cats Cat Show, the Washington, D.C. region’s largest cat show, will return to the Dulles Expo Center on Saturday, July 26 and Sunday, July 27.

Presented by the Global Egyptian Mau Society (GEMS) and the Cat Fanciers of Washington, this family-friendly event will feature more than 150 cats across 30+ breeds competing for best in show in each of the five rings. In addition, the show will feature unique vendors throughout the show and a dedicated education ring where we will feature daily stuffed animal contests for the kids as well as educational programming about the different cat breeds, the latest research in feline health, and foster and rescue opportunities.

The media is invited to attend and cover this two-day event, which will feature hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of spectators and cat enthusiasts from across the country.

Programming

  • Judging in five simultaneous rings throughout the day and best in show competitions. Saturday judges include
     

  • Dedicated education ring featuring daily stuffed animal contests for kids 12 and under (prizes and giveaways available!), local vets sharing the latest news in feline research, local rescues and their adoptable cats, and breed showcases featuring Bengals, Maine Coons, Cornish Rex, Persians, Egyptian Maus, and more!

  • Tours of the cat show throughout the day from knowledgeable cat fanciers.   

  • Adoption corner featuring local rescue organizations like The Cats At Longstreet (TCAL) and the Humane Society of Loudoun County and their adoptable cats.

  • Wide selection of vendors offering cat toys, pets beds and carriers, cat furniture and  scratching posts, and other cat themed products, jewelry, and accessories you can’t find anywhere else.

  • A Pet-Me Zone to meet and greet cats.

Capital City Cats will have spokespeople available for interviews, including licensed CFA judges and event organizers. Select cats and their handlers are also available for in-studio media appearances prior to the show. These live or pre-taped segments offer strong visual opportunities and engaging content.
