2026 Education Ring Schedule
There’s so much to see and experience at Capital City Cats, especially in our dedicated Education Ring where we will be hosting fun and informative programs throughout the day for cat lovers of all ages.
You’ll hear from veterinarians, rescue advocates, experienced cat fanciers and Cat Fanciers’ Association (CFA) judges on variety of topics ranging from grooming and pet insurance to feline acupuncture, fostering and Trap-Neuter-Release programs. You can also join a guided show floor tour, meet a variety of cat breeds and cheer on our youngest visitors during the Kids Stuffed Animal Contest.
Education Ring Schedule
🪮 10:00 a.m. — Cat Grooming Tips and Tricks
Long-time CFA exhibitor Susan Cook Henry will share helpful grooming advice and practical tips for keeping your cats looking and feeling their best.
🐾 10:30 a.m. — Rescue Tales: Fostering and the Importance of Trap-Neuter-Release Programs
Liz Bayer of the Feline Rescue Association will discuss fostering, community cat care, and the important role Trap-Neuter-Release programs play in helping cats.
👀 11:00 a.m. — Show Floor Tour
Curious about what happens at a cat show? Join us for a guided tour of the Capital City Cats show floor. Meet in the Education Ring at 10:50 a.m. to get a primer on cat shows and a full explanation of everything happening at the show.
🩺 11:30 a.m. — Feline Acupuncture: Is That Really a Thing?
Dr. Raeyna Longtin, DVM, of Hometown Veterinary Partners will explain how acupuncture is used in feline veterinary care.
🧸 12:00 p.m. — Kids Stuffed Animal Contest
Children ages 12 and younger are invited to bring and present their favorite stuffed animal to compete for fun prizes!
💳 1:00 p.m. — Pet Insurance: Is It All It’s Cracked Up to Be?
Dr. Raeyna Longtin, DVM, of Hometown Veterinary Partners will explain what pet insurance is and help cat owners better understand what to consider when choosing coverage.
🐈 1:30–3:00 p.m. — Breed Showcase
CFA judges Liz Watson and Sharon Roy will introduce a variety of cat breeds and share more about their histories, personalities, and unique characteristics. Featuring Persians, Exotics, Bengals, Cornish Rex, Egyptian Mau, and more!
🎟️ 3:00 p.m. — Show Floor Tour
Take an afternoon guided tour of the show floor and get a closer look at the judging rings, competing cats and everything happening throughout the show. Meet in the Education Ring at 2:50 p.m.
Whether you’re a longtime cat owner, thinking about adopting or fostering, interested in learning about different breeds or attending your first cat show, the Education Ring has something for everyone.
All Education Ring programs and activities are included with admission to Capital City Cats. The Education Ring schedule will be the same each day of the show.
